2023 Dood Family Letter
Happy new year doods! I hope you are all partied out and rested from the holidays, I sure had an awesome time self-quarantined in a room…
Happy new year doods! I hope you are all partied out and rested from the holidays, I sure had an awesome time self-quarantined in a room over the entire Christmas… Cuck Fovid! Well, it wasn’t all that bad, I did help a lot of VPN primeval godlings get access to our demo pre-release, so it’s all good.
Anyway, it’s new years and I want to personally write the first medium of the year, delivering firsthand what to expect in this exciting year ahead! Without further Ado, let’s get down to brass tacks and kick off January with a bang of concrete dates:
Month of the S1 Demo
Jan 12th- Demo Pre-release phase 2 for Primeval Godlings. The boss is in, prepare to get pwned by my avatar multiple times and show me your gamer rage. But if any of you find a loophole and manage to whoop my butt easily pls let me know so I can plug it lol.
Jan 19th- The burning of Solar and Lunar NFT Fragments for game time will be available in our Marketplace. The streaming of our Boss is now permitted, it’s time to convert more Doods and get them ready over Chinese New Year!
Jan 26th- Foonie Magus will be back to full force after the Chinese New Year holidays, with the majority of our employees infected over Christmas and new years lol, we should be recovered, rested and immune to handle the launch properly! Planet NFT Snapshot for 1st batch of game time will be delivered this day!
Jan 27th- The official Season 1 Demo launch! 3 core events will begin, an in-game Speedrun leaderboard for the masses, a (light) UAT trophy event and finally, a cross-DAO charity tournament that will take place over the course of February.
As always, more details will be provided over Twitter and Discord as we close in on those dates, please stay tuned!
Season 1 you ask? Yes, there are 2 more seasons to come with the demo, season 1 is but a taste of the core game mechanics, a chance for players to get acquainted with our battle system. This is by no means a highly replayable experience, that’s season 2- where we include a more complete rogue-like experience with new items, artifacts, apostle merging, the other 2 Avatar classes, all 12 apostles classes, even tougher depths and more! (Phew, sounds like a lot right? Enjoy watching it all come together in Spec-Ops sneak peek!) Please note that season 2 is also when the PvE dungeon experience is more complete, so this is where heavier UAT focus will be placed. Season 3 will bring on the complete experience which includes PvP functionalities and a mini e-Sports tournament, this is the main event where we can bring out the big guns to pave the way for our TGE and Official Battle launch!
More Development Transparency
More concrete dates you ask? I will lay out more details in this Sunday’s AMA, and we will be updating our whitepaper and roadmap soon, however, we will only be able to update target time frames with humble estimates:
Season 2 (Roguelike upgrade)- Internal build January, Primeval testing early March, Public launch late March.
Season 3 (PvP)- Internal build February, Primeval testing early April, Public launch late April
TGE — May
Official Battle Build- Internal build March, Primeval testing May, Public launch June
God Game Simulation- Internal build May, Primeval testing TBD, Public launch TBD
Origin Apostles- Raffles begin in February, full collection reward and ticket minting in March
Concrete dates for each phase of development will become visible only when we approach the community testing phase. Rest assured, with the core code base in place now, our progress will be much smoother. Primeval holders can expect regular sneak peeks of our internal progress and test our pre-release builds regularly from now on. I will also write a journal entry on Discord detailing how the development process goes from internal, community testing, and public next week, hopefully, this provides more understanding of how development dates are set and adjusted.
On top of our weekly internal build streaming, we will also publish a monthly dev update on the challenges we are facing and how we overcome them. We will continue to improve communications and community involvement in the development process. We value every dood’s opinion and we want to ensure expectations are set right with our supporters, so please continue to voice your opinion to us!
Now, let’s focus back on how we plan to utilize our demo to convert more doods. Because I am genuinely hyped up as I hear everyone dying by my hands, yes, right now, as I am typing, our entire company is trying out the new boss in our internal build, and it’s straight-up sadistic lol. I think our programmers are trying to exact their revenge because it was a real pain in the butt to implement… But anyway… I digress…
Global conversion begins in Web3 communities
We’ve learnt a lot of lessons throughout 2022 as we experimented with various marketing channels throughout the year. We’ve also met with some of the biggest projects, guilds and funds throughout the year. The biggest summary I can give is, our team lacks web3 marketing prowess (sad), and nobody out there has the answer (LOL). However, throughout my travels, I fundamentally believe the most powerful force that web3 tech and ownership have enabled right now, are the communities themselves. Web3 sports a huge array of ecosystems, each boasting their unique expertise.. gathering some of the brightest people I have ever met!
The problem is, everyone is spread out, everyone knows the path forward is working together but everyone is too busy building or surviving on their own. I believe there needs to be a call to unity, a place for everyone to contribute together and shine through as one. I want Apeiron to be this place. Being a game-based ecosystem our role is to provide kickass entertainment in the web3 metaverse. We shall pool together talents from other communities, and learn to grow together as one, inviting bright minds to contribute, and filling in the gaps for each other. With this said, here is a rough plan of how we envision the coming Demo’s reach:
With season 1 we will be making introductions of Apeiron across various Gaming ecosystems and leading web3 communities.
With season 2 and replayability, we will incite discussion and tactics amongst the communities with more UAT rewards.
With season 3 and PvP, the complete experience is here, we shall turn it into an epic warzone and begin approaching web2 gaming channels to pave the way for launch!
Before all this happens, there is also one important task we must do, and that is what we have been trying to do since a few months ago…
Community Armageddon!
Ever since my proposal to revamp the community, we have gathered much valuable feedback, and we shall be minimalizing events and server activity between January 16th — 25th to undergo some major renovations! From server structure, events, DADi program and local communities, we will be triggering an armageddon of epic proportions to set the foundations right for a greater cycle!
In the past our community experimented with a wide range of events, bringing out doodiness to every aspect of our lives as we waited for the game, oh it’s been a blast! Learning about everyone’s hobbies and interests outside of Apeiron and gaming drew a lot of us closer! But with the game coming, a lot of the events should be catered towards Apeiron itself. Oh don’t worry, the lighter side will always be there, occasional binge drinking nights, game nights, marbles… we’ll keep the best for our primeval godlings ;)
As we focus on the revamp and demo, community reward sendouts will change to a biweekly basis throughout January and February. Please stay tuned to our Discord announcements for more details!
AMA this Sunday!
I am sure a lot of you must have a lot of questions coming up! So please be sure to join me on the AMA this Sunday at 2pm UTC! The AMA Questions channel on Discord is also open should you have an essay of questions to ask or a huge complaint to file! I’ll be ready, and I promise I won’t make the boss even harder if you complain too much as revenge!
Finally, we would really like to thank you for your patience and support throughout 2022, we understand there were many ups and downs throughout, but we will continue to learn and improve in 2023! Oh… and what’s our resolution? “To a million active users in 2023!” (This is actually LoreScribbler’s 2023 resolution, but hey, I concur! Cheers to that!)
Yours truly,
Frank Cheng aka LoreKeeper
P.S. Shared photos of the new decorations that came in during my Covid! Our original demo party pushed from Dec 29th to 11th because of me as well… shit… have to write that speech soon too for our early investors… they’ve been expecting a game since 5 years ago LOL! I should get Bookworm to interview them in a medium piece! Be sure to come drop by if you are in Hong Kong!
