AGW Rundown and Update
Hey doods! The end of the AGW Leaderboard is now in sight, so today we’ll update you with our plans for the AGW Grand Finals and some talk about what to expect after the AGW Leaderboard concludes. We’ve also got a collaboration to announce with our friends over at Moku, and the results of the Dood x Poring Fan Art Contest.

AGW Grand Finals and S3 Development Update
During the course of the AGW Leaderboard, we’ve unfortunately observed some boodish behavior from certain guilds that isn’t in keeping with the spirit of our game. Once the leaderboard concludes on July 2nd, we’ll be working with the different guilds involved to make sure that we ferret out these boods.
It is essential for an event of this magnitude that those who get invited to play in the Invitational and then those who make it to the Grand Finals represent the best Apeiron players using the most innovative strategies. Those who we discover have been gaming the system will face severe repercussions. It will take time to conduct these investigations, but we are committed to ensuring fair play in this competition.
There may be some delay in the distribution of leaderboard rewards while we follow up with all the guilds and address our concerns on a case-by-case basis.
In addition, we are still in the process of searching for a fitting event and venue. In collaboration with our esports partners GeDa and Talon, we want to make the Grand Finals epic with jerseys, merch, and more! The goal of the grand finals is to celebrate the official launch of Apeiron so we’re going to spend time to make sure we find a suitable event and venue to make sure that it lives up to the hype. We’ll keep everyone posted about the date and venue!
In the meantime, on the production side, development of S3 proceeds apace. We expect the full suite of S3 features, including story campaigns, artifacts and cooking, to be implemented in July. We can’t wait for you doods (starting with our Primeval testing!) to get your hands on our latest release - we think you’re going to love it.
Once we have more information to share on the new time and place for the Grand Finals, we’ll share it with you. For those of you reading this article on the day of publication, our founder Frank “LoreKeeper” Cheng will also be hosting an AMA on Discord at 10pm UTC+8 for those of you who have any questions. We’re open - as always - to your constructive feedback and suggestions.
AGW Invitational Adjustments
Given that the dates for the Grand Finals are shifting, we’ll also be making some adjustments to the Guild Wars Invitational online tournament, which will still function as a tournament, but the structure will be more akin to a league.
The Invitational will run every Friday night for SEA and Sunday night for NA, starting in July and going on for several weeks. During match days, the different guilds will compete to make it further down the bracket and to secure their place in the Grand Finals.
We have another important update for the Invitational: now, the top 16 (up from 12) guilds per region from the AGW Leaderboard will qualify - pending our investigation to make sure the winning guilds deserve to be invited. The bottom four guilds (13-16th place) will start in the lower bracket, while the top four will have a round 1 bye. Rewards for the tournament will be adjusted for the increased participants.
Spreading out the tournament over weekends instead of cramming it all into a couple of days gives us the time to showcase all of the incredible players competing for each of the guilds, and gives you doods something else to look forward to on the weekends - you can watch some great Apeiron gameplay!
Summer Sprints
It’s summertime, which means it’s time to chill out to beat the heat! As such, there will be no major leaderboard immediately following the conclusion of the AGW Leaderboard. Instead, we’ll enter an offseason period. Of course, you’ll still be able to win $ANIMA through regular play, so don’t worry about that.
During this offseason, we’ll also be hosting shorter, lower stakes events called “Summer Sprints”. These are like mini-leaderboards that run over 2-3 weeks that come with some bonuses if you can’t put out that competitive fire within you. The first Summer Sprint will start on July 2nd. Keep your eyes on our Discord for all the deets!
A new leaderboard will come alongside the S3 PvE content drop. Rather than PvP, this leaderboard will be directed towards the new PvE experience. We had some hints of what that would be last week, so make sure to check it out!
Moku Collaboration
We’re happy to announce that Apeiron is collaborating with Moku on their upcoming Moki Genesis NFT Collection mint! In order to obtain the Moku Luck Sack, you’ll have to first complete quests and earn points to purchase the Luck Sack in the Moku shop. There are one time quests including registering on our Marketplace, registering as a guild, and reaching a certain rank; and there are daily quests including playing certain amounts of games.
Aside from the Luck Sack, you can also purchase different rewards in the Moku shop, such as Apeiron Planet NFTs, Apostle Tickets, $ANIMA, and Stardust. If you have spare points, you can try your luck with one of our loot boxes that randomly contains one of the above rewards.
Dood x Poring Fan Art Contest Results
The Dood x Poring Fan Art Contest has successfully ended with over 150 entries! We just love to see the cute artwork created by our lovely community members and fans. Thank you all for participating!
