Howdy! In our previous article, we introduced some of the stories behind the Constellations which light up the godiverse’s sky. And today, we’re running it back with even more Constellations! Just a refresher: Constellations are made up of Apeiron’s Star NFTs. Put another way, every Star will be in its own Constellation — and Constellations will provide unique buffs if you (or your Alliance) manage to collect every Star in a specific Constellation.
And of course, each Constellation comes with its own special design and story. For those of you who love puzzling out the greater intricacies of Apeiron’s lore — heck, even if you just love a good yarn — this article is for you. So grab a mug of your favorite beverage, put on some chill background tunes, and settle down for a relaxing evening of reading.
Before that, we have a couple of announcements. First, we want to reiterate for those of you not in the know: our Whitepaper has been updated! We’ve made a lot of important changes, so check it out: you can find it HERE.
Second, we’ve got some updates coming to our Discord! Including…
A new Welcome channel, with infographic and videos to get you started on your adventures on our server and in the godiverse, with clear how to’s of how to level up and claim sweet rewards!
IMPORTANT: We’re resetting all Souls and Alignment at Sep 1st at 10am UTC! This reset pairs with a fresh coat of paint for our Doodiquests, which will now give more rewards and involve cool new events offered exclusively to those in the higher tier Alignment channels!
I can’t read my notes quite clearly, but it says something…big…just over the horizon…new NFT? Marketplace? Stay tuned!
Ok, with that being said, let’s get to the Constellations!
Disclaimer: Please note that the images below are un-activated Constellations, and that activated Constellations will be in 3d. Additionally, the images below represent a work in progress, and may change as we continue to improve and update our project.
Rogue’s Share (Axis Mundi Major)
Once there was a Sweetcake Seller, who traveled from place to place selling sweetcakes. It wasn’t particularly well paying — in fact he was dirt poor — but he made people happy, which he liked. And over time he managed to save up! Bit by bit he built a little stash of cash. Sometimes he dreamed of getting rich quick, but he knew that wasn’t for him. Then one day, when he was walking across a perilous bridge, the wind howled, and he dropped his goods. As fate would have it, to one side of the bridge fell all of his sweetcake supplies — everything he needed to make his sweetcakes — and to the other, his life savings. Oh bother! What should he do? Continue with his selfless life of virtuous cake-baking or cash in and get his just desserts? The Sweetcake Seller stood there for a moment of panic. Then he ran to the edge of the bridge and jumped off himself.
The Mystical Motorbike (Axis Mundi Minor)
There was a dood who received a motorized bike as a gift from his godling for all the good doodiness he did in his community. Doods not having the technology to produce such a marvel, everyone was very jealous of him as he zipped around town and back. But one day, he was riding the bike and hit a tree and died. Everyone was sad about this, but there wasn’t much they could do. The police cleaned up the motorbike, but a few days later it was mysteriously back at the tree. They cleaned it up again but it miraculously returned. This happened about 50 more times, after which they said the motorbike must be a miracle. Doods who are traveling worship the motorbike and pray for safe passage (and perhaps for their own magical motorized vehicle).
Seraphima (Wandering Major)
It was Saint Tom Aquidood who wrote about the Seraphim Angels, the most devoted servants of godlings across the godiverse: “They are associated with the element of fire. Why fire? First, the always rising movement of fire signifies how the Seraphim are borne upwards to the godlings chillin’ in the sky. Second, fire reaches everything (as many a dood has discovered) — penetrating to the core, burning to the quick: so too are the Seraphim, one and all, HOT. Finally, in fire there is inextinguishable light, shining forth as a beacon to the doods below (recommended to bring sunglasses when meeting one of the Seraphim). Should you be a good godling, have no fear, for the Seraphim will come to support you. But should you tread the darker paths, be warned, for the fiery holy power of the Seraphim scours away all evil.”
Sea Journey Sisters (Wandering Minor)
Long ago, during the old days of the Dreamtime, when the world was made, two doodette sisters were traveling to the sea. But along the way, the elder sister found she needed to give birth. They rested near a waterhole to pop out the doodling, but the crying from the newborn woke up the Rainbow Serpent. Stirred by the birth, the Serpent caused flooding and thunderstorms. In response, the two sisters sang sacred songs and danced to calm down the angry snake. Eventually the storm abated and they went to rest, but the sneaky Rainbow Serpent came in and swallowed them, doodling and all. He carried them back to their homeland inside himself, where finally he spat the two sisters out, turning them to stone. The two stone sisters are now a popular picnic spot for traveling doods.
Final Blow (Axis Mundi Major)
The universe was ending. All the worlds were destroyed. There was only one planet left, and upon it stood High Goddess Cosmos and her retinue. “It’s not looking good, High Goddess,” said the Last Hero. He was exhausted. He had used all of his vast strength to leap between the worlds to save as many as he could — but it was never enough. “I’m sorry,” he said to her. “I tried. But I failed.” Cosmos looked at him and smiled. “Oh my dear Hero,” she patted him on the head. “This is only the beginning.” Then the universe ended, and was born anew.
