Greetings Apeiron Faithful! In today’s blog post we’re taking some time to touch grass, lie down, and check out the godiverse night sky. Up there, you can see hundreds of incredible Constellations. As we have mentioned in previous articles, Constellations make up the bedrock of Alliances, providing powerful buffs if you manage to get all the Stars for one Constellation in your Alliance.
But beyond that, Constellations are the stories and tales that make up the essence of the godiverse — legends inspired by mythologies and faiths from around the world! The lore of the Constellations is the fabric of the godiverse, and we would love to share some of it with you. So we will! Right now!
Below, you will find a selection of images and descriptions of some of the Constellations in the godiverse. We hope you enjoy this sneak peak of the godiverse — we’ll have some more for you next week as well for you to mull over. And just a little tip: although some of these may look like self-contained stories, there is often more to it than meets the eye…
Disclaimer: Please note that the images below are un-activated Constellations, and that activated Constellations will be in 3d. Additionally, the images below represent a work in progress, and may change as we continue to improve and update our project.
Without further ado, let’s see ‘em:
Jungle Bird (Axis Mundi Major Constellation)
There was a scholar who lived on a world with the perfect conditions for long life. It was a green and bounteous world, secluded in a secret corner of the universe. He was often alone, but that suited him, for he took the time to study space and time. For thousands of years he studied, until one day, he met an old Jungle Bird who asked what he was doing. He told the Bird and the Bird chuckled. Do you want the answer to space and time? Why it all exists? How it all came to be? I can tell you…said the Bird. And then…
The scholar and bird were destroyed by Zero’s awakening. The scholar became a dumb dood, and cooked the reborn bird for dinner.
Clear Choice (Axis Mundi Minor Constellation)
“You have two choices: you can eat the red burger and your life will be changed forever by the TRUTH or you can eat the blue burger and you’ll be ignorant of the TRUTH forever.”
“What do the burgers taste like?”
“Uhh…the red is ketchup. The blue is…blue cheese.”
“Cheese! I’ll take the blue burger.”
“Don’t you want to know the truth?”
“The truth is in the taste of this burger, and damn, it tastes good.”
The Rainbow Serpent (Wandering Major Constellation)
On a distant Oasis world, the Dood tribes are always on the move in a constant search for water. But not all are so lucky. Water is terribly scarce. The dry and the heat become oppressive, and there is much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Yet just when they have lost hope and are ready to despair (after around 5 minutes of searching, give or take), the Rainbow Serpent comes: emerging iridescent from the ground, creating a new oasis of life-giving water in its serpentine wake. The Doods cheer as it soars resplendent through the air! Then they quickly run for cover, as the Serpent has a tendency to eat young Doods and spit them out as teenagers.
The Thrones (Wandering Minor Constellation)
Gods and Godlings enjoy having servants in various shapes and sizes to serve their divine needs. Throne Angels take the form of great wheels with many eyes, and act as the chariots for the gods, wheeling them about wherever they want and singing popular songs all the while. In their spare time, they might be found holding impromptu races, staring contests, and karaoke.
