Hey Godlings! You know what we love here at Foonie Magus? A lot of things, to be honest, but among the things that we love are maps. Maps are cool! They help you to orient yourself on a new plane of existence, give you an idea of where everything is — and indeed, what everything is. So today, as you might have guessed, we have a special treat for you: a map of the Apeiron Godiverse! We’ll take a look at it in all of its majestic cartographic glory (thanks artists ❤), then we’ll run down what all the different symbols and signs (crab apple?) mean.

Quick Disclaimer: What you’re seeing here is a work-in-progress, and as we are in development, various things may change in the course of events as we build the best game possible.

Alright then, with that being said, let’s summon the Map of the Godiverse. Here it is:

Wow! Look at the lights! Look at the colors! Truly, a wonderful map. But of course, it’s not just pretty to look at — it’s got meaning behind it as well. What are we seeing here? Well, right in the center we have the Axis Mundi — the Center of Creation — from where all the godiverse emerges. It is here that Cosmos looks out from her seat on the Empyrean Throne and plans her next move in the war against Chaos and his corrupting Taint. If you want to learn more about the Axis Mundi and Chaos’s taint, we have a couple of blogs on those HERE and HERE.

Beyond the Axis Mundi lies the Godiverse itself — spiraling Mythological Galaxies and enigmatic Celestial Waygates. Of Mythological Galaxies, there are 12 in total, representing different mythologies from around the world: Babylon, Egypt, Latin America, the Norse and Greek Binary, the Southeast Asian Binary, Korea, Slavic, Hindu, Shinto, and Tao. You might be able to spot one of them quite clearly to the southeast of the Axis Mundi. Any guesses as to which this might be? The others, for now, are shrouded…

These Mythological Galaxies are ruled by Mythic Gods, some of whom are benevolent and kind, while others…not so much. The Galaxies are guarded by incredibly powerful Guardians, and it will be one of your tasks, as a Godling, to challenge these Guardians and unlock the riches (and mysteries) of the Mythological Galaxies for all to explore.

As a part of our investment in keeping Apeiron a community-built project, we’re inviting YOU to participate in developing our Mythological Galaxies! Each galaxy will be full of traditional stories and myths with our own spin on them. But which stories do you want to see? What do you think represents your culture the most? We’ve already begun this process of reaching out with our SEA Binary galaxy, and we’re excited to weave in more and more of our wonderful community’s imaginative ideas.

Please note that as Apeiron continues to grow we hope to incorporate more Galaxies of all types — not only bringing in more mythologies but also working with famous and popular IPs to make the Godiverse a rich and variegated landscape with something for everyone to enjoy. With the power of the blockchain and NFT individual ownership, we believe that we have the technology to work productively and cooperatively with other orgs and produce a game that reflects the wonderful diversity of our planet!

Getting back to the map, beyond the Mythological Galaxies, we also have Celestial Waygates. These Waygates, sent to the physical realm by the enigmatic High God of the spiritual Dirac Dimension, offer portals to various gameplay functions inside of the Godiverse. Why have they been sent here? Rumor speaks of the Dirac Lord seeking to train the Godlings for a new struggle, one that lies at the level of the very fabric of creation…or maybe he’s just bored and wants some entertainment, who knows?

So what kind of Waygates are there, anyway? Well, the Conduit will serve up all the latest Apeiron-related announcements, news, and — eventually — streamers! For those with a more competitive streak, head over to the Hourglass Coliseum and climb your way up the ladder with your Avatar and Apostles. If you train hard, and with a little bit of luck, you might even be able to make it to the Quantum Stadium — aka our eSports Stadium — which will host our Group vs Group and eSports “finals” battles! Epic doesn’t even cover half of it~

Maybe you want to dive more into the mysteries of the Godiverse? Check out the Manifold Paths of Dirac, our endless dungeon mode. With battles to fight, items to collect, and special events to uncover — all of which will be randomized and fresh each time — you’ll always have something new to experience by exploring the Paths.

Or perhaps you just want to chill out, take the edge off, and relax. If that sounds like you, head on over to the Meta-Void. This paradoxical space of fulfilling emptiness will offer a space to chat with other Godlings and play a variety of fun mini-games together. And finally, we have the Cliffs of Veritas. We’re not quite ready to reveal what happens at the Cliffs yet, so we’ll leave you there…with this cliffhanger :P

On the map, you should be able to spot the Hourglass Coliseum pretty easily, just to the left of the Axis Mundi. You might also spot a patch of darkness in the bottom right corner: it’s the Meta-Void! Then, slightly to the right and a little bit north of the Axis Mundi is the entrance to the Manifold Paths of Dirac. And to the upper left corner, you can see an orb: this is the Quantum Stadium. The other Celestial Waygates have not quite manifested themselves yet, but you can be sure that the minions of the High God of the Dirac Sea are hard at work getting them ready…
