The end of June is closing in, the season 2 demo is out, and that means it’s time to check in with our teams for upcoming updates about Apeiron in S2 and beyond. We would like to announce an important piece of news: Apeiron is now available for download on the Epic store! We’re thrilled to be able to make our game more accessible across different platforms and being on Epic is just the beginning~
!!FLASH REMINDER!! Booty Hours have been airdropped out to asset holders today. The next batch is scheduled to drop on July 13th. Enjoy your Booty Hours — hope you can collect some rare and powerful doods.
Moving now to the business of the day: in this Development Report, as with last (and every) month, we’ll be covering updates from the following teams:
-Web 3
-Game Development
-Game Design
-Art: 3D and Animations
-Art: 2D and Concepts
-Story/Lore
-Community
Web 3
Big updates! This month our Web 3 team launched the leaderboards for the season 2 demo. We’re now right in the thick of it with a ton of prizes available so if you want a piece of this delicious pie come and join in on the fun. Note that it’s easier than ever to join a guild now — if you don’t have one, just click into the leaderboard and you can pick one to join. The web3 team also published our API documentation for better integration with our partner platforms.
Looking forward, the web3-ers are working on developing the Apostle section of the Marketplace. This means users will be able to list, trade, and mint Apostles on our Marketplace for the first time. Neat! Expect this to be live at around the end of S2, when players will be able to take their Apostles from their Reserve Slots and mint them out.
Cheers and hooray for the release of the season 2 demo! It’s finally out after the dedicated efforts of our programmers. Our game development team has been busy these last few months preparing for the launching of the demo and “enjoying” a spot of bug-catching in the dungeon.
Now that the S2 demo is out, guess what’s coming next? It’s what we’re calling the 2.5 update, encompassing a broad swathe of improvements to existing gameplay systems based on the feedback from all you lovely players. It’s going to take a bit of time, so for now — enjoy S2!
Game Design
Our game designers have also worked hard on the season 2 demo release alongside their brothers-in-arms in game development. This has meant a lot of balancing and rejigging to get the game into just the right sweet spot in terms of difficulty. There have been many, many tests of game balancing as well as early PvP builds. So many tests…
Anyway, with S2 PvE in the books, the designers are now turning attention to a longer frame of mind. A very long frame of mind: they’ve been cooperating with various departments on the plan for seasons 3 to 5. And what plans they are…we’ll have more to say about those in a future blog post (coming soon).
One more thing: we’re integrating AI into our equations so hopefully with the support from this robot *BEEP BOP bOOP* we can further improve our gameplay balance. Thank you to our robot friends.

“We are working hard…” — Shadow, our Chief Environment Artist and 3D Generalist mutters while taking off his office slippers crossing his legs, awaiting us to leave and let him get back to work. “We have finally completed skills for the Wisdom of Tempest and other elements except for water, and we’ve got some more Apostle skills baking in the oven right now. Once the special VFXs are implemented, exciting video content will be available.”
Asked for any final thoughts on the coming season, Shadow looked outside at the sunny landscape and sighed: “Life is bleak, I’ll be working on them until I die, but *sighs through nostrils* until then have fun with the current season!”
Art: 2D and Concepts
Over in 2D and Concepts, the artists have been “pouring their hearts and souls into our new characters (following up on their last progress)” and working on all the special FX for the Wisdom Avatars, which are now complete. We begged and pleaded and they suffered to give us this little sneak peak of a future skill:
NOW FOR THE FUTURE: things that you should look out for are the new Avatar designs, different arenas, brand new events, and most importantly new loreful characters! Love that for us.
While we were asking the 2D team to give us more exciting designs, we also care about their well-being, and so inquired about the health of our Art Director — Felix Chu:
Apeiron newbie writer: “How are you?”
Felix: *starts crying* and says, “My body is aching.”
Hang in there Felix!
Story/Lore
This month has been HUGE for the story/lore team because we got TWO additional members, and they’re ready to bring in some juicy content. With almost one month under their belts they have demonstrated that they have that je ne sais quoi to depict a lively godiverse in our expanding lore. And speaking of lore stories, a whole new chapter of An Apeiron Story is now available on our medium! Make sure you read it and dive into the deep sea world of the Axis Mundi if you haven’t yet.
Working with other teams — notably the art and design teams — the story/lore team continues to develop the engrossing storylines that will keep you on the edge of the seat from seasons 3 to 5 and then knock your socks off in seasons beyond that. Until then, we’ll be making adjustments to character events, based on you guys’ feedback. Busy busy busy~

The S2 leaderboards are now live! The S2 demo has been EXTREMELY well received — the number of players on the leaderboard exceeded S1 by double during the first day of the release. Apeiron is growing! More and more godlings are setting off for adventures into the dungeon, which itself will mean that by the time Season 3 rolls around we can expect a very competitive field prepped for the launch of PvP. Huzzah!
Doodaria, our Discord community, has continued to mature like a fine wine. Notably, we continue to recruit and accept DADI applicants, so if you want to get more involved in growing our Discord as well as reaching out to other communities, send us an application!
In other news, we have to thank our community team for successfully launching our Content Creator partner program, which has helped us gain more missionaries and streamers to spread the good word of Apeiron. This event is ongoing, so if you are a content creator, consider giving Apeiron a go and seeing if you like it, drop us a line :]
For July, we’re laying all the groundwork for the S2 Guild Wars Tournament! We can’t wait to see the best of the best PvE dungeon delvers duke it out head to head. It promises to be a special occasion so make sure you mark your calendars! It’ll be in late July.
Last but not least, good news for doods in Vietnam! Apeiron’s Loremaster will be attending the IVS Crypto 2023 Kyoto event, as well as visiting Vietnam on 7/7–7/8 for Good Morning Vietnam along with Lorekeeper. If you spot him out in the wild, say hi!

About Apeiron
Apeiron is the world’s first NFT-based play-and-earn god game. Apeiron will feature a unique card-based action-adventure combat system combined with god game simulation gameplay inspired by classic god games like Populous and Black & White. Players will be able to build up planets from above before descending to the ground as a powerful Avatar to solve the mysteries of the universe. Players will grow their planet to the point of developmental stagnation, then reset the planetary cycle via an Armageddon event to allow for even more advancement and thrilling late-game alliance level GvE and GvG activities. Apeiron will use a tri-token architecture, which means that there will be three separate tokens to navigate their ecosystem: a governance token, a play-to-earn token, and a premium alliance token.
