Apostles and You

So we’ve already gone over the Apeiron basics(If you missed this, or want to know a little more, check out these articles here: #2, #3): you’re a Wandering God who goes around taking over planets and helping the doods — our cute and chubby universal denizens — solve their problems through divine miracles. We’ve also mentioned that as your power grows on each planet, you’ll be able to summon an Avatar to walk around the planet directly, engage in combat, and dive into perilous dungeons.
Let’s explore that last point a little bit more deeply. What kind of dungeons are you going to be venturing into? Each planet has an EDEN for you to plug in your Spirit Core. When inhabiting the EDEN, you can perform miracles: it is your seat of power. But below each EDEN is a mysterious nexus, a door to the shore of the Dirac Sea.
The Dirac Sea is an ever-changing, ever-growing confluence of souls. Each planet has its own door to the Sea with its own unique dungeon. When you first venture in, you may find that you can only go a few levels down before the door slams shut. But as the planet grows and develops, the door will also open just a little bit more, allowing you to go deeper.
So what can you find within the Dirac Sea dungeons? Challenging monsters and bosses of course, as well as treasure and sweet loot to plunder! But beyond rare artifacts to equip your Avatar, you may also discover the trapped souls of Dood Apostles. Apostles are the heroes of dood society. They are the few (the very few) of the doods who decide to pick themselves up off their butts and dedicate themselves to their Wandering God and unraveling the secrets of the universe.
Each Apostle you unlock is unique, with different stats, classes, weapons, special body parts, and skills for a total of 0.3 BILLION combinations…so it might take you a while to collect them all. You’ll even be able to combine your Apostles by unlocking a hidden ritual that will allow you to level up existing or learn new skills.
Class and skills are what you’ll be looking at first and foremost. Each class (such as Warrior, Berserker, Summoner, Lancer, Bard, and Healer, among others) will have a corresponding skill deck, and in battle the Apostles will present those skills for you to use as you see fit. By freeing the trapped souls of Apostles, you’re slowly building up different combinations of possibilities for how to approach combat.
Maybe you have a spellcasting Apostle with a really high magic stat but low defense, so you pair him with a tanky little armored Apostle with a suite of defensive skills. Maybe your Avatar is a Mage itself, so you would rather your Apostles were all focused on defense and healing while you pump out the damage yourself. There are — quite literally — millions of ways to build your team.
Besides finding Apostles in the depths of the Dirac Sea, you can also visit special Dungeon Worlds scattered around the universe, where you might discover rarer Apostle souls. If you’re lucky, you might even be able to recruit the legendary Apostles such as Hercudood or Doowukong who can bring unique abilities to your team. And as the Apeiron godiverse grows, we fully expect to be able to work with other brands, offering Apostles with skills and appearances reflecting different IPs.
Apostles are also able to be converted into NFTs for exchange through the Apeiron marketplace, so if you find yourself with a surplus of Apostles and nothing to do with them — exchange them for something else, or simply sell them for real value cypto-currency.
With a party of loyal Apostles behind you, you’ll be able to push out further into the Apeiron universe. Maybe, for you, that means fighting against the nefarious forces of Chaos and purging the galaxies of the corruptive Taint. Or maybe you have a more competitive streak, and you want to take your team into the Galactic Arena and climb the ranks. Or perhaps you would rather keep building up your planets, relying on your Apostles’ passives to give you special bonuses. However you choose to play — your Apostles will be there to help!
So much for Apostles. We’re really excited to see what kinds of broken and degenerate team combinations you as players will come up with. Once you get into Apeiron, dive into the Dirac Sea and start freeing the souls of these powerful allies!
