How to best introduce the Hunter? Hunters tend to be a little shy. They don’t hang out with the other Doods so much. Sometimes they don’t even show up for mealtime, which the other Doods find totally weird! But the truth is, the Hunter Doods just prefer their own company. They hang out in nature, listening to the breeze through the trees and watching the animals go about their lives. And then, when they get hungry, they pull out their trusty bows and get back on the hunt. Who needs to come to mealtime when you get your own food whenever you want?

Given they are such individualists, why did the Hunter Apostle decide to join your party? Hunters play their cards close to their chest. When the other Apostles ask why, the Hunter will just shrug and change the topic, or go out and get more food for the Warrior to cook. But you hear the Hunter’s prayers when no one else does. You know that she can’t quite put it into words, even though she’s standing awkwardly behind a bush staring at your Avatar. It’s more of a feeling than anything else. Following you just felt like the natural thing to do…the right thing to do. And the Hunter trusts her instincts.

Hunters spend most of the time in the party…not with the party. They tend to either hang about behind the group, hunting the foodstuff that keeps the rest of the group fed, or ahead of the group, scouting out any potential trouble. The others find them over-serious and over-zealous. When they do have to spend time with the other Doods, they like to get cooking tips from the Warriors. They pretend not to care when the Mages and Bards are giving their performances, but they secretly watch from the back as the Guardians clap and cheer. And they always keep an eye on the Rogues. They aren’t sure exactly what the Rogues are up to. But it’s veeeerrryyyy suspicious.

That being said, Doods big and small admire the Hunters in combat. Hunters bring an unparalleled combination of backline access, utility, and cold hard damage to the table, which any Apostle can appreciate. Skills like Suppressing Fire can keep an enemy locked in place, allowing your other teammates to dogpile on before there’s any trouble. Or what about that enemy Mage standing tantalizingly behind a line of enemy Guardians? With the skill Sniping Shot, the enemy caster won’t be able to focus on casting their magic, because they’ll be out of HP. Sometimes the best crowd-control really is death: so give it to them all with the Area of Effect Skill Hail of Arrows. Make ’em pincushions!
