S3 Primeval Testing // NA Tournament Report

Hey doods, big news - S3 Primeval Testing is coming this Friday!!! 🥳 This is the first time S3 will be available to play. As such, in today’s blog we’re going to have a quick recap of the S3 beta release content as well as some details on how to get into Primeval Testing if you’re interested. Finally, the NA Tournament happened last weekend and it was hype, so talk about how it went down in our tourney report!

Lots to dive into today, so just one announcement:

• S3 Primeval Testing will be launched around 8am UTC on July 26th. Primeval NFT holders will be able to download the new game version from the Primeval PvE channel on our Discord. If you’re a Primeval holder but don’t have access to this channel, make sure to go to our Discord #link-account channel first. 

Alright, let’s get into it! 

S3 Primeval Testing

The PvE dungeon game mode is making a grand return in S3! In addition to the current PvP game mode, you’ll be able to dive into the dungeons again and fight boods alongside your dood Apostles. 

In the previous article here and here, we’ve revealed some of the new game features. Here’s a quick recap:

• PvE Skill Tree and Artifact Rework: Unlock and level up your Avatar Skills and Artifacts through battle rewards! Artifacts will also now automatically activate in your inventory. 

• Hard Mode and Scoring System: Once you’ve cleared the base difficulty, make your dungeon run into a next-level challenge. Encounter stronger enemies and gain higher final scores for your runs!

• Heat up the Hotpot: Return to the Cradle to take a short break from your run with some delicious hotpot food. Your Cradle Chef will prepare magical cuisines that grant you buffs in battles for you and your squad. 

• NEW Apostle Squad System: Bring your loyal Apostles into the dungeon to make a squad of 4, with an additional 2 slots for saving new Apostles you meet in the dungeon. Train and level up their Skills to make them stronger throughout your journey. 

• NEW Dungeon Currencies: 4 new types of in-game currencies in and outside the dungeon, giving you different avenues to power up.

• Restocked Dungeon Shop: The Dungeon Shop has all sorts of new items for purchase, such as the Sealed Apostle, an Apostle with random class and IV.

NA Tournament Report

The AGW NA Invitational Tournament successfully ended on July 21st after several days of fierce competition, and it was every bit as exciting as the SEA Invitational. Let’s share the highlights and announce the winners!

Before that, we have to say that all the teams showed up determined to make it to the Grand Finals by optimizing their Planet and Apostle strategy to the utmost. Thank you all for your participation; we’re thrilled to see players dedicating themselves to Apeiron!

Congratulations to Atlas Gaming and Bood Nation for coming out as winners! They’ll join Ancient8 and METAT8 as the 4 top guilds competing in the Grand Finals. 

First seed Atlas Gaming hit the ground running, comfortably pushing through to the winners finals before facing Bood Nation. Bood Nation put up a strong fight, but it was not enough as Atlas Gaming's Star Player Gapp clutched it and managed to outperform his opposition, deservingly winning the award for MVP of the NA AGW Tournament. 

Bood Nation came as runners up in this event and thereby punched their ticket to the Grand Finals. They had a difficult path for qualification, as they faced both Atlas and METAT8 on their road to victory. We need to shout out METAT8 in particular. Always hungry for more, METAT8, who had already secured qualification for the Grand Finals through the AGW SEA Tournament, was gunning for a second live event spot. They had an incredibly difficult game against Sheci's Farmtastic Guild (SFG) who took them to all five games. Shecito from SFG in particular put up a very strong performance in his matches and earned the Rising Star of the tournament. Despite this, METAT8 was still able to take the series with the combined efforts of Gaid, 1ogic, and Sharpy, leading to a showdown in the lower bracket finals with Bood Nation. 

Despite losing to Atlas Gaming in the upper bracket finals, Bood Nation showed extraordinary grit and resolve. In the lower bracket finals, the pressure was immense: the prize, the final slot for the Grand Finals. Ultimately, Bood Nation's Ralo was able to send one final Rock n Roll to Sharpy's face to take the win and secure their spot. Because of this performance under the most pressurizing of situations, Ralo was named the Clutch Performer of the tournament.
