The Metaverse. In this article, our latest in a series introducing Apeiron — the world’s first god game on the blockchain- we’ll discuss our plans for Apeiron’s integration into the metaverse, and how we hope to lead the way towards a more unified future for gaming. This is not just an article: it’s a declaration of intent, a statement of values, our very own metaverse manifesto!

Much like play to earn, the metaverse is a term being thrown around the crypto-gaming community at large. Some games will try to claim that they offer their own distinct metaverse, separate from others. But we think that this distorts what the metaverse is, what it should be. The metaverse is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that cannot be claimed by any one company. It is the first fully digital nation, a community shared by all. Whereas the old gaming paradigm was identified by fragmentation and competition, the metaverse will be defined by cooperation and unification.

How does the metaverse give rise to such utopia? At its core, the metaverse is a platform which, by securing and validating an individual’s rights to digital private property, provides firm ground for collaboration and interaction. Knowing that you own what you earn, and that you can take what you earn onto the market at any time, and that no one can take that away from you, users can approach each transaction with confidence.

Which brings us to our next point: ease of access. With a shared technological backend, one that is digitally neutral and mathematically guaranteed, anyone can trade with anyone else without the need for complicating intervening factors, without the fear of being ripped off. The metaverse is not about petty cash grabs: quite the opposite. It opens the door to equal, fair, and free trade through ensuring direct and smooth lines of communication.

Gone are the days of shady gold farming from wage slaves and of developer laws set down from on high about what is and what is not allowed to be traded. No more 3rd party middlemen of questionable morality and purposes. In the metaverse, we are all producers, all of us entrepreneurs playing to earn in an exciting digital environment on a level playing field.

So how does Apeiron fit into the picture? Here at Foonie Magus, we recognize that everyone must do their part to keep the metaverse free and open. The foundations are there, but it is up to us to build this house together, and to maintain it. Which is why we are committed from the launch of our game to support metaverse integration.

Our team of talented game designers and engineers is working hard to make it so that Apeiron NFTs will be available for use outside of our own godiverse. Our artists are even making multiple designs for each unique avatar type in different art styles so that we might fit the stylistic needs of another game! By going the extra mile, we hope to set the new standard for other blockchain game developers.

We are also prepared to welcome other brands into Apeiron. At the start of the game, players will be in the Axis Mundi, the center of creation, a kind of primordial galaxy. As the game begins to open up, we will introduce more galaxies based on mythologies from around the world — Egyptian galaxies, Roman and Greek, Norse, and Babylonian, just to name a few. But as we begin to expand our partners, we plan for galaxies based on different, real-world IPs with unique NFT and game assets.

That being said, it takes two to tango (or even more to mamba). We cannot do this alone. This article, therefore, should be considered an open invitation to other developers. We hear you. We see you. And we want to work with you! The metaverse in all its glory is a dream that we can only make happen through open collaboration. We are more than willing to develop our games together in tandem to make a better metaverse.
