Good Morning, Afternoon, and Evening to you, Godlings around the world! And welcome to the 2nd of our Primeval Planet Exordium Codices! In today’s blog, we’ll be drawing back the curtain on more information for what you can expect to get from your Planet NFT. Specifically, we’ll be addressing two things: Abiogenesis events — cosmetics — and Primeval Legacy — special traits that, through careful manipulation, will allow you to build your perfect world.
Before jumping in, we should mention that today is the LAST DAY for the Superb Shaman Sweepstakes, so get out there and finish all your social media side quests before the Master of Hexes disappears over the horizon! If you have five Origins Collection Apostles, then this could be the magic number six that gets you a WL spot for our Primeval Planet Presale!
Also a quick disclaimer that what we talk about today is a work in progress — our game is currently in development, and everything is subject to change as we proceed on our quest to make Apeiron the best game it can possibly be.
Alright, let’s get right to it then, starting with….*dramatic drumroll*…Primeval Legacy traits! Understanding and utilizing Primeval Legacy traits will give you a big advantage on the journey to making your perfect Planet, so let’s see how it all works under the hood.
So what does a Primeval Legacy Trait do? Essentially, when a Primeval Legacy activates, it will guarantee that your new planet does not fall below a certain minimum threshold for the dominant element. For example, let’s imagine you have two planets, an Earth Planet and a Fire Planet. The Fire Planet has the Primeval Legacy: Pillar of Flames, which has an associated minimum threshold of 80% for the Fire element. When you make your new planet through a Celestial Conjunction ritual, then, the new planet will have a guaranteed at least 80% Fire element. Check out the table below for this example, as well as a couple of others.
You might wonder, well what happens if I have multiple Primeval Legacy traits — what happens then? Basically, whichever Trait value is bigger will be the one to activate. Looking at the Table above, let’s imagine I have one planet with the Primeval Legacy: Dunes and one with the Primeval Legacy: Pillar of Flames. In this case, since 80 > 55, the Pillar of Flames will be the one to activate, and my new planet will have 80% Fire.
Ok so that’s what Primeval Legacies do, and as you can see, they can be pretty powerful as a tool to get the planet with the elemental distribution that you want. So what about Inheritance? Can the new planet inherit the Primeval Legacy trait from its parents? It sure can! Basically, the new planet will have a 10% chance to inherit the trait for EACH parent AND grandparent that shares the same trait, up to a maximum of 60% (both parents and 4 grandparents).
Let’s try and sum up: Primeval Legacy traits help to make your new planets consistent in their elemental distribution by setting a minimum threshold for the dominant element. If there are multiple Primeval Legacy traits shared among parents, then the biggest one will be the one to activate. Finally, the new planet has a 10% chance to inherit the trait, stacking additively for each parent that has the trait in question.
Phew, so that’s how Primeval Legacy traits work! It’s complex, but a lot of room to grow as a master planet maker. Now let’s move onto our next topic: Abiogenesis! You might be wondering what Abiogenesis means. Basically, it’s the idea that life as we know it came out of nonlife — like amoebas forming out of the primordial soup that used to be our oceans many billions of years ago. Mmmmm….delicious life soup…
Anyway! For Apeiron, Abiogenesis has a special meaning: during our Abiogenesis event, the Planet cores that you have purchased will spontaneously generate out of nothing their unique cosmetic properties for the Avatar! We have a nifty trailer to show you some of the awesome combinations you can get, check it out in our~ Avatar Class Introduction Teaser!
Those are some fine lookin’ Avatars, I do declare! So now let’s talk numbers. We have cosmetics for each of the following categories: Body, Weapon, Head props, and Body props. For the Head props, we have Masks, Facemasks (they’re different I swear), and Horns. For Body props, we have Back Props and Surrounding Props. It works out at around 840 combinations. But that’s not the end of it! Each Planet will have its own elements and Avatar combat class (check out our previous Codex for more on those), coming in at 45 potential combinations. Multiply the two together (45 x 840) and you get a total of ~=37800 unique cosmetic combinations!!
Much combinations, such cosmetics. We’re as excited as you to see what kind of cool lookin’ Avatar y’all are going to be opening! The Abiogenesis event will come after the Presale, and after the Planet Elements, Classes, and Primeval Legacy traits have all been revealed — the Abiogenesis is the cherry on top, the pièce de résistance of your Planet NFT joining the Apeiron universe.
Our Planet Presale is just around the corner now, so if you’re interested in Apeiron now’s the time to join our social media channels on Discord, Twitter, and Telegram! We’re running tons of events — giveaways, AMAs, game nights, and more, so there’s already lots of ways to get involved and to potentially win yourself a coveted WL spot for the Planet Presale (that’s just around the corner now)!
