Greetings Godlings! With the Primeval Planet Presale now just around the corner, it’s time to talk more about how Celestial Conjunction works. Celestial Conjunction is a holy ritual in which players take the elemental essence of two planets they own to produce a third, new one, essentially “breeding” a new world — a new world that is, notably, it’s very own unique NFT, and can be used as a new world to play in or sold on the Apeiron marketplace.
The planets that you create through Celestial Conjunction will go on to form the foundations for the Apeiron universe — it’s kind of a big deal. We’ve already talked somewhat about how you can control the Conjunction outcome through Primeval Legacy traits — read more about that HERE. Today we’ll be discussing what you can expect from celestially conjoining planets of different elements and Avatar classes.
BUT FIRST: reminders! Don’t yet have a Whitelist slot for the upcoming planet presale and want to snag one? Head on over to our Discord, where you can sign up for our Community Whitelist Giveaway event, do some quests, meet some cool Doods, and get that coveted WL slot.
Speaking of giveaways, the Daredevil Dragoon Draw will be ending within 24hrs!! This will be your only chance to get an Origins Collection Dragoon Apostle absolutely free, so complete your sidequests HERE while you have the chance!
Finally, a quick disclaimer: the material we are talking about today is currently under development, and we reserve the right to change anything and everything on our journey to make Apeiron the best god game ever!
Now then, onto the topic du jour: Celestial Conjunction. Let’s begin by talking about elemental distribution. We’ll start with the bare bones basics: every planet can be made up of a combination of the four elements: water, air, fire, and earth. Planets will inherit their parents and grandparents’ elements. Let’s take a few examples and see what happens with different combinations:
Situation #1: We use a fire/water and fire/water planet and celestially conjoin them. We’ll get a new fire/water planet — maybe leaning slightly more fire or water depending on how things go, but that’s what we can expect. Simple enough.
Situation #2: We use a pure fire and fire/water planet and celestially conjoin them. In this case, we’ll get a fire/water planet, but the concentration of fire will probably be quite a bit higher, unlocking more powerful fire skills.
Situation #3: We use a fire/water and water/earth planet and celestially conjoin them. We’re most likely going to get a tri-element fire/water/earth planet in this case.
Please note that it’s generally better to have higher concentrations of less elements, as that gives you access to more powerful skills. But at the same time, perhaps you guys as players will find combinations of low-level skills from different elemental lines that will work excellently together? We’re excited to see how you play with it!
Here’s the list of 15 planet archetypes you’ll be able to breed in Apeiron and their consequent elemental combinations. Each planet type will have its own unique base Avatar depending on its class, so there’s a huge amount to discover:
ELEMENTAL PLANET TYPES
Gigas — Pure Earth
Leviathan — Pure Water
Inferno — Pure Fire
Tempest — Pure Air
Archipelago — Water/Earth
Volcanic — Fire/Earth
Karsts — Earth/Air
Tunda — Fire/Water
Delta — Water/Air
Dunes — Fire/Air
Mountainous — Fire/Water/Earth
Foresty — Water/Air/Earth
Wasteland — Fire/Earth/Air
Oasis — Water/Fire/Air
Normal — Four Element mix
Lots of planets to create! But elemental combination is not the only thing we need to talk about — let’s switch gears and now talk about Avatar combat classes. Again, let’s start with the basics: there are three Avatar classes — the Fury, the Wisdom, and the Fate. The new planet will inherit its class from either parent. If both parents are of the same class, you’ll be guaranteed to get the same class for the child. If the parents are in different classes, then it’s a straight 50/50 on which class you’ll get.
Now, each Avatar comes with up to 5 innate skills — 3 card skills (C-Skills), which are class dependent, and 2 passive skills (P-Skills), which are element dependent.
As C-Skills are class dependent, these will also come from the parents. Let’s again take a few demonstrative examples to unpack how it works — presented in a handy table!
Please note that in the third case, since the child can only draw from one parent, it will also have a 25% chance to receive a “neutral” C-Skill. Neutral C-Skills are generic combat skills that give your Avatar the flexibility of a wide-range of abilities — however, these tend to be less powerful than their dedicated elemental counterparts — and so it will be up to you to figure out if you want to use them or not.
Additionally, there is a small chance that any C-Skill will “mutate” into an entirely new skill! You might find your new planet coming with a powerful ability` you absolutely were not expecting — or, similarly, something that doesn’t fit your plans. It’s something you’ll have to adapt to as you work through your celestial conjunctions.
Finally, Cosmetics! How do cosmetics get passed down through Celestial Conjunction? In this case, it’s pretty simple. Cosmetics are separated among 4 parameters: Shape, Weapon, Head, and Body. Shape, Head, and Body are inter-inheritable between elements AND classes, so whatever the parent planets have, you can expect the child to likely pick up! The Weapon, on the other hand, is bound to class, so that will follow whatever class the child has.
Ok, so quite a bit of information in today’s article, but we hope you enjoyed this meaty look behind the scenes at what you can expect from planet breeding in Apeiron. Let’s sum it up! TL;DR, your planet can inherit the following 12 traits through Celestial Conjunction:
1 — Elemental Type
1 — Class
3 — Class Skills
2 — Passive Skills
4 — Cosmetics
1 — Primeval Legacy
So many combinations…the possibilities are endless! Or at least, there are a helluva lot of them. We can’t wait to see the unique planets you’re going to create!
As we mentioned earlier, the Primeval Planet Presale will be going live very soon, so if you want to get two planets in preparation for breeding, that’s a great opportunity for you to get just the planet you want and start creating!
